Industry, transport, tourism, and recreation pose other dangers to biological diversity.
Industrial influence on biological diversity is connected mainly with the emission of different containments, including noise. Industrial branches connected with production of thermal and electric energy as well as distribution of oil and gas have the biggest impact. Building and functioning of water power stations where modern methods considering nature conservation were not used is also perilous. Another danger to natural environment comes from extraction and processing of mineral resources.
The development of transport along with communication networks affect biological diversity both indirectly and directly, and in a long run - degradation of ecosystems. Additionally, speeding cars kill many animals. Wires transmitting electric energy constitute other danger to the diversity. They ruin landscape and are traps for flying animals.
Tourism may as well be a threat to the Polish nature. The main dangers are:
- Dynamic in recent years and often chaotic development of accommodation base,
- Intensive, uncontrollable development of buildings, e.g. summer houses,
- Increased use of individual transport during holidays,
- Tourist penetration of valuable objects of nature.
